I got a forwarded email from my uncle “H” which kinda just boggles my mind:

I am under 45 years old,

I hunt,
I am a Republican reformer,
I have taken on the Republican Party establishment,
I have many children,
I have a spot on the national ticket as vice president with less than two years in the governor’s office.
Did you guess?

The answer? Teddy Roosevelt

Besides the obvious, I really have no idea who would seriously compare her to Teddy. Why?

• Palin is by no means an environmentalist. Teddy, however, is still known as a great conservationist.
• Palin will statistically be around until she’s in her late 70’s. Back in 1850, when Teddy was born, the average male life expectancy was under 40 and never exceeded 50 during his lifetime (1858-1919). Comparing their ages means nothing, he was pretty darn old for his day.
• Roosevelt had a bunch of kids (6), Palin has a bunch of kids. Ok. But did Roosevelt have any public views on sexual relations? Did he work them into his campaign platform? Did one of his kids have an “Oopsie” and get pregnant out of wedlock? Hmmmmm
• Lastly, what were Roosevelt’s accomplishments before becoming president? What are Palin’s? Is there really a comparison?
